Between 2014 and 2019, I was able to present video histories of different aspects of Amercian jazz music in a variety of venues in Wenzhou, China, including many international performers of Aermica’s only original art form. I was welcomed at Chinese libraries, coffeee shops, schools, and museums, because musical art is universally appreciated. I was fortunate to also have many friends that served as translators of the history and commentary I would share before and after each video performance. Even today, I maintain a Wechat group dedicated to jazz, and I post recordings from the Chinese music service Netease, which has a proportion of its music library licensed to play in either China or America.
